As a member of cross-party Committee on internal affairs, I delve into the subjects such as home security, police forces operations, migration and integration, as well as protection of privacy and civil rights. I believe that it is important to discern when governments try to intervene into the privacy of citizens and also consider whether laws possess adequate legitimacy.

Committee on Petitions
Article 17 of Germany’s constitution presumes, that everybody has the right to address a petition with requests and complaints to the parliament. Every year the committee on petitions receives more than 15000 petitions. It is important that citizens have the right to directly contact the parliament for their concerns. Petition right underlines the importance of citizen participation in our democracy.  Particularly in times of growing dissatisfaction at government, petitions serve as an effective instrument in the name of citizens.

Pforzheim/Enzkreis
My constituency is composed of the urban district Pforzheim and Enzkreis. Citizen office hours are held at regular intervals in my constituency office. Inhabitants can use this opportunity to have a face-to-face dialog about issues of their interest.
